A significant part of the staying at the Iron Horse House—and what makes this experience unique to other rental homes—is living within the magnificent surroundings of our pedestrian and bicycle-oriented, delightfully diverse and Bohemian neighborhood.
Guests at the Iron Horse House will enjoy an enviable urban walking environment with easy access to numerous local restaurants (both casual and fine dining), eclectic shops, vintage clothing stores, used bookstores, cafes, pubs, night spots, live music venues and more. There are also several local markets nearby that offer everything you might need including organic produce, fine wines, microbrews, international foods, breads, meats and seafood.
The cultural and historic amenities of Downtown Tucson and the University of Arizona are also within easy reach. The historic Tucson Trolley line is just one block from the Iron Horse House and takes riders directly to the University of Arizona Main Gate—which is also just 1 km (1/2 mile) away by foot or bicycle. Downtown's business and cultural district with its performing arts venues, museums and fine restaurants is also just 1/2 mile away.
Our downtown and Iron Horse neighborhood are in the middle of a renaissance and though, both have remnants from their industrial past, have evolved to be quite a remarkable place that brings together a very diverse bunch of people for a very positive benefit. You will see everyone from the tattooed, pierced and punked to suits and ties, University students and professors, lots of cyclists, street performers, panhandlers and an ample supply of dogs and cats in the neighborhood. It is a friendly, respectful and safe neighborhood that some guests have aptly referred to as the "West Village of Tucson."
